What we do during a rescue

I arrive, walk the yard, and plan a safe route up the tree.
I set a climbing line in a strong branch.
I climb with a harness, lanyard, and small gear.

Near the cat I slow down.
I give the cat time to see and smell me.
Then I place the cat into a carrier or hold it in a secure way.

Next I descend with the cat.
On the ground we hand the cat to you first.
Then we clear ropes and gear and look over the tree for any damage.

Place a small dish of food or a blanket with your scent at the base of the tree.
Do not climb after the cat.
